Read What Our Students at Towson Are Saying...
A Training Center is only as good as the students that fill its classrooms.  If our students are not successful, we are not successful.   Below are just a few of the many student success stories happening at ComputerTraining.com at Towson, Maryland LLC.

"I graduated from college with a Bachelors degree in Computer Programming. I quickly learned that it was impossible to find a programming job without work experience, but I couldn’t get work experience without a job. Also, my school didn’t specialize its programming curriculum in any one language so I had learned a little of this and a little of that, but most potential employers wanted me to know everything about one programming language.

I had been working administrative and other part time jobs and was not really going anywhere. So, I turned to ComputerTraining.com. I realized there are a lot of networking positions available and they pay well. I worked hard and studied all the time. I managed to pass my first test and earn the MCP certification, which was an amazing feeling of accomplishment. It took me a few tries to pass the next test, but I just had to look forward to the future and keep trying.

I think my biggest fear in doing all this was “What if I don’t make it?” I overcame this fear once I realized that my teacher and all the support staff at ComputerTraining.com were really there to help me succeed. If I needed help, all I had to do was ask. If I was worried about an interview, I just expressed my concern and I was offered mock interviews or encouraging words. Once I made it to an interview, I found that I had learned a lot more than I realized. The technical questions were easy and I could provide more information than they had asked for. I now have a position in Tier I Technical Support. We support anything from basic applications to network connectivity and handheld devices. My new position has a lot of room for advancement and I really enjoy helping people to get technology to work for them.

My advice to anyone thinking about attending ComputerTraining.com or worried about making it afterwards is to just go for it. Everyone is there to help you. Make friends with your classmates; they can be wonderful resources. Don’t be afraid to say “I’ll have to get back to you.” In the real world there are tons of resources and no one expects you to know everything off the top of your head. Just remember no one will answer your question if you don’t ask. Also, remember to STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, and try to keep on track with your testing.

My experience at ComputerTraining.com has made it possible for me to accomplish the goals I have in life. I can actually picture the home, car, and family I will have, as long as I keep working for it. I appreciate the experience and skills I have gained at ComputerTraining.com and plan to use them for life."

"Before I decided to check out ComputerTraining.com, I was working as a store manager at a minor video rental chain. It was fun and all, working with my friends and not having a lot of responsibility, but I wasn't making a lot of money and when I hit my 30th birthday, I realized I was working way under my potential and really needed to make a change.

I had heard about ComputerTraining.com on the radio, and I realized this could be just the kind of program I needed to move into a new, more rewarding career. I was computer-literate and had developed a bit of an aptitude over the years, though I had little formal training.

One day I heard the ad again on the radio and decided to give their Online Skills Challenge a try. I completed the first part and left it at that. The next day I got a phone call from one of the staff at ComputerTraining.com, asking what happened, and why I didn't finish the challenge. I was a little surprised at the personal attention, but I went back and completed the challenge. She then contacted me again, sounding very excited, and informed me that I'd gotten a perfect score on level one of the challenge, which tests for a basic understanding of computers, and scored considerably higher than I'd expected to on the much more advanced second level. Based on my performance in the Skills Challenge, she was able to determine that I had the basic grounding in computer knowledge to be able to benefit from the course.

The only question remained was whether I had the financial capability to pay for the course and the will and commitment to see it through. Thanks to my father cosigning for a student loan from Sallie Mae, I was able to afford the class, and as for seeing it through, I'm happy to tell you that I did! It was a lot of hard work, but I've remade myself and created the beginnings of a new career!

I was making nine dollars an hour working for a boss I hated and who didn't respect his employees at a job where I had no benefits, little to any prospects for a raise, and where in the end there was zero job security when the owner decided to close the chain and take a trip to Hawaii.

Now I work in the IT field, where my skills are valued, respected, and rewarded. I have great benefits, and I'm making more now per hour just starting than I ever could have hoped for at my old job, and I'm only three months in! I have a boss and coworkers that I like in a healthy work environment of mutual respect, providing tech support to Department of Defense personnel all over the world, from Iowa to Iraq. Not only do I love my work, I am proud of it…I've gone from wondering what happened to my life, to realizing that I'm right on track and the best is yet to come."

"Before attending ComputerTraining.com I had only a basic knowledge of computers and networking. I was distraught in my present position at work and was making my family very unhappy. That’s what helped me make the decision to change fields and improve the quality of life for myself and my family. With the support of my husband and children I was able to complete the course. The course was intensive and required a great deal of dedication and hard work, but I found it gratifying. The sacrifices I made over the six months of class were well worth the outcome. I’m now working in the IT field and loving every minute of it."

"I’ve been working with computers since a very early age, and only recently decided to switch my career path to take advantage of my skills, knowledge, and desires.  I have been enjoying this decision ever since, as it has made available opportunities that, until recently, I could only dream about.  I must say that I was a little concerned about signing up for the ComputerTraining.com program, as I wasn’t sure I’d be able to find a position quickly enough to allow me to repay the loan to finance the course.  I finally decided that the risk was more than outweighed by the opportunities that would shortly present themselves. Once I put myself on the market, I was quickly overwhelmed by prospective employers, and was quickly offered a position as a Network Engineer with a salary increase of approximately 110%.

I would advise any prospective student to prepare themselves for several months of intense study and training.  As you begin testing you will quickly find practical applications for the knowledge and skills you will be gaining from the course, and each passed test grants a fantastic feeling of accomplishment.  Upon gaining your MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, you will find that many doors have been opened, and will have to carefully decide where your new career will take you.  I sincerely believe that making the decision to attend the ComputerTraining.com course was one of the wisest choices I have made in many years."

"I've always had the basic skills and knowledge to work with computers.  But after coming out of the military I felt like I needed more of a challenge and more advanced skills to succeed in today's IT industry.  I did not have the certifications to really prove to employers that I was worth my word regarding my abilities.  This made my decision very easy to decide to make a change and pursue new goals.  By enrolling and attending ComputerTraining.com, the doors for more opportunities were opened and I it has given me the confidence I need to succeed in my new job.  My new skills have allowed me to better interact with other IT colleagues as I have a greater understanding of IT issues related to my job.

My experience at ComputerTraining.com was beyond what I expected and it has really paid off.  The hands-on training, as well as a single dedicated instructor, proved to me that ComputerTraining.com was all about commitment to both its students and the success of its program.  Something you would never see in a traditional classroom setting.

For anyone considering entering the ComputerTraining.com program, set goals for yourself and pursue them.  Getting certified has made me much more marketable in the workforce.  Making this investment in yourself will be very rewarding both now and in the future."

"After successfully serving twenty-four years in the United States Air Force as a Command and Control/Emergency Management Specialist, I decided it was time to make a change and retire from active duty. Making such an enormous decision made me both excited and apprehensive about the prospects that I would face in the civilian job market.

I have always enjoyed working with computers and decided that I wanted to enter the field of information technology and that is where ComputerTraining.com entered the picture. Without certifications and practical experience, I could not break into the industry. ComputerTraining.com helped me address both areas of concern.

Because the training is hands-on, I was able to complete several network builds and labs, gaining the practical experience needed to get me started and boost my confidence for the market. In addition, the training prepared me not only the “real world” workplace, but also for the certification exams. I have achieved my MCP, MCSA, and MCSE and an excellent career in the industry. I would not have been able to accomplish all of these things without the training and guidance of ComputerTraining.com and their outstanding staff."

"Before I started at ComputerTraining.com, I was stuck.  I was going from job to job and was miserable.  I decided to make a change and looked into various programs.  ComputerTraining.com’s was, by far, the best.  Within two months of being in the class I had a number of job offers. Not only was I able to quit my job at the time, but I was able to find a career and a path.  Now I don’t mind getting up in the morning!

When I started with computerTraining.com, I had very little computer knowledge.  After three months in class another student and I were discussing a class topic, and all the knowledge I had earned hit me!  After just three months I was able to speak intelligently about something for which I had previously been completely in the dark.

The program is not easy.  If I had one thing to say to prospective students, it would be to study hard and don’t get intimidated.  The instructors were always available to me and even made themselves accessible for one-on-one assistance.

I would recommend this program to anyone considering a career in IT.  It is thorough, well-paced, and perfectly balanced between lecture and hands-on lab work.  If you are tired of skipping from job to job and being dissatisfied in your work, try ComputerTraining.com and find your career!"

"Throughout high school and college I have taken various computer courses that ranged from Typing to Basic Programming. Although I did not major in a computer related field, I have always had an interest in computer technology.

In college, I majored in Kinesiology, however I chose to include a few computer classes to my curriculum due to my interest. After college I was employed in the Health field as a Physical Therapy Technician, a position related to my major field of study. This position was great as I learned a lot and met many wonderful people. However the pay rate and money making potential were meager and did not equate to the amount of work that I was performing (progress reports, discharge summaries, letters to doctors, staying after hours to complete paperwork, taking work home to complete, planning exercise routines, etc.).

One evening as I was driving home from work, I heard a radio commercial about ComputerTraining.com. When I arrived home, I made a visit to the website advertised on the radio. I read through the curriculum, took the online assessment, and spoke with the instructor. The curriculum and program looked very promising and the instructor was confident that the program would be beneficial. This was the first time that I seriously pondered a career change.

My major concern about the program was if I’d be able to work full time, attend class, and keep up with the curriculum. I was three years out of college and had grown accustomed to only having to worry about my full time job and all the paperwork that it included. One of the last things that I wanted was to add on studying, quizzes, homework, class time, and everything else that comes with taking a course. It was rather difficult at first, but after I adapted and managed my time a little better, this became less of a concern.

Advice I would give to new students is to set time aside to study and complete the course work. You have to be disciplined and stick to this plan because once you fall behind it’s that much harder to catch up. Another word of advice is to use all of the resources given to you by the instructors and staff (practice exams, specific websites, hands on lab activities, mock interviews, etc.).

During the program I took the XP exam and received my MCP. Two months after I completed the program I landed a 2-month contract position (with the help of the ComputerTraining.com staff). I was able to utilize the skills that I learned at ComputerTraining.com as I helped with migrating users, computers, and files to a new active directory domain at the Department of Defense. Subsequent to the contract, I was offered a position at the Department of Defense working as a Helpdesk Analyst. I enjoy my new position, as I continue to meet great people and assist them with their computer problems (via telephone and desk-side). I learn something new everyday and the experience that I gain will be helpful in my journey to becoming a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

My experience at ComputerTraining.com has definitely changed my life for the better. The skills that I have learned have helped to open up a whole new world for me, as I have changed from a Health related career path to an Information Technology related career path. I often review my notes to refresh the material that I learned while taking the course. I find this helpful, as a lot of the users that I support run into various problems, some that are similar to situations I’ve encountered during lab activities. Choosing to attend the course at ComputerTraining.com was one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. It was definitely a jumpstart towards my new career in Information Technology."

"ComputerTraining.com gave me back my future. I was working at a dead end job that had no advancement possibility. It paid a frustratingly low salary that I was barely able to survive off of. I knew something had to change and that's when I found ComputerTraining.com. I kept hearing the commercials, but never looked into it. I was afraid. I was fearful that I'd go through the whole course and it'd be too hard, and I would have wasted money. I don't even have a college degree, so I wasn't sure how I was going to come through with any certifications? I'm not sure what eventually made me go to ComputerTraining.com's website, but it's a decision I'm glad I made. Before I knew it, I was sitting in a classroom, not sure what to expect.

Class couldn't have been better. The instructor that I had was top notch, and was the best teacher I've had throughout my whole academic life. Through the course you learn hands on with the technology you're learning about. The lessons and course work really prepared me for when I was out in the field. Anytime I had a problem or a question my instructor and the junior trainers were there to help. Whether you needed to come in early or stay a bit late, they were always willing to do what it took to help you out. As the course went on I felt more and more confident in my abilities as an IT person. By the end I had all of my Microsoft certifications, and I am working towards my Cisco ones.

ComputerTraining.com isn't just about helping you get certified though. They also help prepare you for getting a job.

The career services department is amazing. After the course, I stayed at my old job for a couple months to help finish some projects. Almost two months after the class was over, I sent an email to the career services center to let them know I was ready to finalize my resume and start looking. Almost immediately I received an email response. Within a day I had my resume finalized, and by the end of the week they had already sent my resume off to a couple places that were looking. As I kept looking for the right job, the career services department kept me informed on what jobs were available and helped me with the interview, salary talks, they pretty much did everything but go in for my interview with me. As a result, I have a great job now, with tons of room for advancement, a starting salary which is over 20% more then what I was making, and can finally start looking forward to what life has in store for me. So thanks to everyone: my instructors, the junior trainers, the career services people who helped me out, and a special thanks to my director of admissions who got me in to the class, found financing, and made sure this was the right thing for me. Without you guys, I'd probably still be at the same job, with no hope of going anywhere, and not nearly in the wonderful position I'm in.

If you're reading this, then you're probably where I was six months ago, standing in the office, looking at all these people and their success stories, thinking about why you need a change. Maybe your job is like mine was, going nowhere, maybe you don't know what you want out of life, perhaps who know all this stuff and just need a little help to get the tests done. Whatever your reason, ComputerTraining.com will give you the chance to help yourself to where you want to go in life. Who knows, in six months, maybe you'll be up here, and someone else in need of a change will be looking at your picture. Good luck to you all MCP's, MCSA's, and MCSE's of the future, I'll see you in the IT field!"

"I was working as an Air Transportation Journeyman at Andrews Air Force Base in early 2006. Faced with only about a year left in the service, I decided to explore other work options. With my college education not yet complete, I saw no real way to make the salary I was making in the Air Force.

While at work, a radio advertisement for ComputerTraining.com came over the air. I always loved computers so the commercial spoke to me. I immediately went online and took the skills challenge. I knew a majority of the questions and I received a phone call the same day to confirm my test results. I then met with a student advisor who got me focused and in class two nights a week in minimal time.

While attending ComputerTraining.com, I knew right away that I was stepping into something that would change my life. Knowledgeable, friendly instructors gave me the skills and confidence I needed to succeed in an IT-related career. They also challenged me to go out and learn all I can to be the best that I can possibly be. These things are not common in any other learning environment I have seen.

The Placement Department is a cut above as well. Since graduating ComputerTraining.com, they have helped me actually find two jobs! One job was part time while still on Active Duty, and now my second that will give me a firm future to build upon. What more could someone want from a learning institution?

In summary, ComputerTraining.com has helped shape the person I am today and the person I will become. Through top quality education, industry-experienced instructors, and Job Placement that is second to none, ComputerTraining.com has definitely enriched my life."
